_x000D_R&B superstar R. Kelly, 54, was convicted Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, in a sex trafficking trial. A jury of seven men and five women found Kelly guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking (violating the Mann Act). On May 4, 2022, Kelly will be sentenced by the same federal judge who oversaw his trial in Brooklyn. The singer is also facing sex-related charges in Illinois and Minnesota. Trial dates in those cases have yet to be set. Kelly had been tried once before, in Chicago in a child pornography case, but was acquitted in 2008.
