What does Apple call “the world’s first spatial computer”?
Apple announced its first mixed reality headset, Vision Pro, at its annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) on June 5, 2023. The device can seamlessly blend digital content with the physical space around the user, using advanced cameras, sensors, displays, and audio. Apple calls this technology spatial computing and claims it is the first of its kind. The device can also switch between augmented and virtual reality modes and supports eye, hand, and voice input. The downside: It costs $3,499 and will be available in early 2024 in the US market.
