Where is the Hoover Dam?

Hoover Dam is a dam built during the Great Depression in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between Nevada and Arizona. One of the most extensive hydroelectric facilities in the US, each of the Hoover Dam’s 17 generators can supply electricity to 100,000 households.

On July 19, 2022, a transformer exploded at Hoover Dam producing 30 minutes of black smoke and flames. No one was hurt.
