Which state has officially declared Bruce Springsteen Day to honor the rock legend’s birthday?

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced on April 17, 2023, that September 23, the day Bruce Springsteen was born in 1949 in Long Branch, New Jersey, will be officially recognized as Bruce Springsteen Day throughout the state. Murphy announced this at the inaugural American Music Honors event, held at the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University. Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa attended the event by video after testing positive for Covid-19 following a sold-out concert in Newark a day earlier. They are on tour with the E Street Band and will resume their European leg in two weeks, followed by a North American stadium leg in August. Springsteen will turn 74 on the first New Jersey Bruce Springsteen Day.
